Read the Skullkickers Comic for free online

Skullkickers is a sword & sorcery action comic with American Manga hybrid art in the vein of Ed McGuinness or Joe Madureira (its highly possible that Joe Mad’s own fantasy-themed book Battle Chasers was a huge influence.) The book follows two mercenaries, one of which is a stocky dwarf, on their quest for “money, fame and adventure.” Their travels has them crossing paths with zombies, goblins, werewolves and plant people with violent and often comedic outcomes to those encounters for the two un-named ‘heroes’ of the comic. This is sure to appeal to fans of Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the Rings, especially those who like a little humor in their stories.  Skullkickers is written by Jim Zub with art by Edwin Huang, Chris Stevens and Misty Coats.

Old Witch - Come Mourning Come [Free Download]

Old Witch is a new band with their own blend of black and doom metal that is bleaker than bleak, I mean their debut album is called "Come Mourning Come" for fucks sake! Grating vocals and haunting riffs are backdropped by an eerie atmosphere all moving as slow as the drudge of a dead body towards its grave.  Not much is known about this band - their names, location and even number of band members are a mystery and the only thing that exists as evidence besides this album is their Bandcamp page and a bare bones Facebook profile.  You can download their debut for free or a small donation.  Donate whatever you can or get it free while it lasts. Here's what their bio on bandcamp says:

"Stooping in a rotting throne of dead oak, casting black thoughts to the stars, burning cold over the glacial wilderness, she reaches withered hands to the cold, eternal night, vast above the deep winter forest. We have spilled our lives an offering to old gods, this brooding vast land. Come, the funeralboats unfurl cruel sails to the north wind, seeking haven beyond the pillars of death...."

El-P & Killer Mike are "Run the Jewels" Free Track and Summer Tour Announced

We normally try not to post a lot of single track downloads here on Idol Threat since we like to give our readers more than a tiny taste (and we believe in the ideas of albums and projects as opposed to singles) but some projects are worth the hype.  The collaboration of Dungeon Family ATL MC Killer Mike and underground veteran producer/rapper El-P bore amazing fruit with Mike's album "R.A.P. Music" becoming one of our favorite albums of last year.  So when they announced that they would be officially forming a group and releasing a new album and summer tour you can imagine how excited that got us!

This time around El-P will be sharing more of the rap duties in addition to producing all the beats as he and Mike create what will most likely be the best collaboration of the year.  The duo will be releasing their full length Run The Jewels on A-Trak's Fool’s Gold records, who will be presenting it as a free download this June along with a limited edition physical release.  You can check out the dates for their summer tour in the poster to the left or after the jump and download a free track off of Run the Jewels called "Banana Clippers" featuring Outkast's Big Boi below.
